Smoking Cessation

The purpose of the Smoking Cessation program is to provide specialty services in the delivery of smoking cessation education, counselling, and support.

Smoking Session

The Smoking Cessation program was developed to enhance the patient experience, increase access to service, improve awareness and adherence to the Ottawa Model of Smoking Cessation (OMSC) protocols, assist patients develop a sustainable quit plan, and increase awareness about the benefits of not smoking.

The Smoking Cessation program is open to anyone who would like to quit smoking.

The goals of the Smoking Cessation program include:

    • Ask, Advise, and Act -> smokers every 3 months, ex-smokers every 6 months, and non-smokers every year.
    • Develop quit plans with patients.
    • Reduce percentage of smokers.

The Dietitian team consists of Registered Dietitians, Certified Diabetes Educators, and Social Workers.

This program is to provide patient support to navigate the health care, community, and social service systems.

This program is screening, diagnosis, and management of cognitive changes in the aging population.
